Zlob -Cannot Get Rid of This

I was running Ad Aware recently and it detected Zlob.Trojan on my machine. I had thought something was a bit off lately because my overall system performance didnt "feel" right. Things seemed too slow, especially when working with graphics my computer had previously displayed just fine.

Anyways, I had Ad Aware remove the item, then to be sure, rescanned with it. It showed nothing. As an extra precaution I checked Counterspy, again, it said I was clean.

Finally, I checked with Spyhunter, and it found 2 instances of Zlob.Trojan in my registry (Just have the freeware scanner version of Spyhunter, so I didnt use its "Remove" ability.).

Attempted a manual removal, found none of the "culprit" processes running, also found only 1 of the listed registry keys and deleted it. Repeated the process above.

Ad Aware = Clean
Counterspy = Clean
Bazooka = Clean (Ran it this time.)
Spyhunter = 2 Zlob.Trojan instances

Rebooted, tried again, same results. Spyhunter keeps insisting I have two instances of this, but I have done everything I can think of and cannot find them.

Please attach a log or something else that shows exactly what and where Spy Hunter is finding problems. Note that Spy HUnter is not a recommended application. It has been notorious for false positives. We do recommend that you uninstall it after you show us what it is supposedly finding. Also note that minor registry key issues that could be left over from a Zlob infection, would not really slow your PC down.

If you still have malware issues (and slow PCs are more frequently cause by other problems), the proper procedures to follow are below.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, renaming, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:

CounterSpy - only for Windows XP, 2K, & NT users

AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy. - only for Windows XP, 2K, & NT users

Bitdefender - from step 6

Panda Scan - from step 6

runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat

newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
