Does anyone know of a firewall or antivirus/antispyware program that will prevent this from appearing on my computer.

I was originally infected last week and decided that I would format my computer and install a fresh copy of Vista. As soon as I connected to the internet this virus was back on my computer. I tried another clean install today and kept the computer disconnected from the internet during the installation process. I ran Spybot and it came back clean so the virus was gone. I then installed AVG Free antivirus and Outpost firewall before I reconnected to the internet.

As soon as I was connected the virus returned. I don't know how it returns (either through my home network or from the internet) but I really need a program that will prevent it. Also, does anyone know how I manage to keep being reinfected?

    Thanks in advance,
    Adam

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

No there is no such program that will completely protect you from this but proper protection and proper education will help. Most cases of this appearing on PCs are due to the PC user downloading things that should not be downloaded or accessing websites that should not be accessed. No software will protect you from yourself. Security starts with the end user. Please don't misinterprete what I have stated above (or below). This was not meant to say this is why you are having a problem, it is just a statement of the facts that we have experienced. Most people get these infections from P2P/torrent downloads or sites or they get them from installing codecs to view videos frequently of questionable content.

Spybot will not detect all the various forms of Zlob nor will it remove many of them.

Sounds like you have may still have traces of the infection on your PC or that you may not have proper protection in place.

Do you have a broadband connection (DSL or cable)? Do you also have a router?

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions. If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
