    Hi all.
Just installed the free edition of Zone Alarm.
Not sure if this is a known problem but when I switch users and leave the computer for a while, I come back to it and it won't fire back up to the welcome screen, the comp is still running but the monitor light stays orange.
I have to restart the comp which shuts down any progs that I had left running.
I have now disabled Zone Alarm to see if it is the issue here.
In the meantime, does anyone know if this is common or is there a setting I have missed? I have looked but see nothing relating to it.
    Cheers.

Not an issue I've seen with Zone Alarm ....should look under display properties or power options .....don't allow it to hibernate. ...and I usually set mine to "never" on the rest of them.

    Hmmmm.
All settings are already as you say.
I don't know what goes on here.
I shall leave the comp now and see what gives after half an hour or so.

Unrelated to your current problem but to do with ZA free. I installed this prog on 2 different laptops and it broke xp's 'autoplay' feature. Discs inserted into the optical drives did not autorun and when I looked in My Computer, the optical drive had not changed to show the disc ie the icon remained the same as before.

    Cheers

You dould be having a hardware problem ...power supply might be getting iffy ..you could either boot into the bios and check both temperatures and voltages ...or download Everest Home and check that way ...

Pretty new Cooler Master extreme power 430w psu.
Just came back on and it fired up all fine and dandy with ZA disabled.
I will try it on and off a few times but it looks like ZA is sending it into hibernation and there is no way of getting it out apart from a reboot.
Looking at rik's reply it seems that there are a couple of issues.
