Zonealarm Alerts

I am using ZoneAlarm.
Sometimes I get alerts that tell me that the firewall has blocked access to my computer, TCP port 3399 TCP Flag S and it lists an IP #....
Im just wondering what these are?
Im not sure if the port #'s vary on these alerts, Im just copying the notice that is present on my screen right now..
Whats going on with these?

 

You can ignore these alerts. They are port scans...machines that basically scan random PC's on the internet looking for open ports. Don't take it personal. It's completely random, and very common. As long as your running a firewall, you have nothing to worry about.

Zone Alarm is just letting you know that it's doing it's job.

lol... i have had 76633 intrusions blocked since i installed zone alarm a few months ago... of these it claims 4775 have been highly rated. Like Steve said, tis just doing what its there to do. I was quite suprised at how many it bloked to start with, and have been impressed to watch it steadilly rise. Now i think i'd be more worried if it didnt go up a few thousand a week lol

randomly scanning for open ports?
Fill me in, here!

 

So they can find a computer that has vulnerability's ex; ports and they can do there stuff from there on the targeted computer. So thats why you always should have your firewall on.
