ZoneAlarm blocking attackers

I've had ZoneAlarm firewall for about 6 months now. And just yesterday it started picking up a bunch of ip address that were sending me packets, throughout the world. I went to http://cqcounter.com/whois/ to look up their ip and isp information. I haven't looked up all of them because there is so many. ZoneAlarm has collected 556 blocked intrusive attempts on my firewall in the last 24 hours. 0 of those have been high-rated. What is kind of weird is that my other old computer which I let my brother use is perfectly fine, in the sense that it's not being attacked at all and it has the same exact firewall / AV software on it as this one. I'm just wondering if I should really be concerned about this. The number of blocked attacks is growing as I type this. I've attached a .txt of some examples of the ip whois results that I'm getting. Any help is appreciated. :)

don't worry about it, it happens to me all the time. When I had Zone alarm installed (for about 6 months) it blocked something like 4,000 attemps. I think if your on broadband it's going to happen alot.

When I get paranoid, as a side suggestion, I have a few network cards. If your on broadband like cable, you can shut off your pc and swap network cards, which will change your ip, unless you have a static (permanent) ip. Nice if you fear your being attacked by a single person, though again, as Mellowman said, to see thousands of hits is not common. Bots are always scanning looking for the unprotected, your not :)

Nope, it is pretty normal to get drive by scans looking for ports. If your Windows updates are current and you have firewall protection, dont sweat it. Of course, your isp should be able to change your ip if you call them.

the attacks seem to have pretty much stopped for now. im still wanting to change my ip address without having to contact my isp. if ANYONE has any tips on how to do it, i'd appreciate the help. it's a static ip so it's very tricky to reset. i've done it once or twice about a year or two ago, but i can't remember what i did that finally made it change. calling all geeks!
