ZoneAlarm Problem?

    I installed ZoneAlarm several months ago and never received a pop up advising of an update. More recently, I'm getting an update pop up almost daily despite the fact that I update it each time the message appears. Are these updates valid or do I have a problem? My OS is Windows '98.

    This is really not a malware problem and should have been posted in the Software Forum.

    Did you you buy ZoneAlarm or did you install the free version? The free version cannot be updated and will show periodic update messages. You can normally change the time frame between the reminders. The default is 1 day but can be changed to 30 or 60 days.

    Did you see what I was referring to in the popup (the 1,30,60 day setting)?

    The only thing I found was manual or automatic. I changed it to manual. This I found under "Overview" then "Preferences" and lastly "Check For Update" where the option is either automatic or manual. Are you saying that this free edition can never be updated? Thanks again!

    You uninstall the free addition and get the next new free addition when it comes out.
