strange netstat, should I be worried?

I'm just wondering if my netstat log looks normal. I had the same problem as this user before http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=164241 and performed the same steps as him to correct my hosts file and I added "127.0.0.1 localhost" as the first line after the comment line:

Lately I've been doing a netstat check to see what it looks like with/without browsers open. Without firefox open it looks like this:

Just after starting firefox it looks like this:

    Or later like this:

I've been noticing at random times from doing a netstat check that port 10080 is being used frequently. Sometimes the list will scroll down a full page with 10 entries or more of "localhost:10080." Could there be a problem?

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

What is normal for one person may not be normal for another. Are you using any gaming software or devices? What software are you running? What browser addons have you installed with FireFox?

Are you actually having any malware problems? If yes, please follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST link given futher down and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • If you have problems where no tools seem to run, please try following the steps given in the below and then continue on no matter what you find. You only need to try the TDSSserv steps if having problems getting scans in the Read & Run Me First.
    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide
    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and Spybot ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

Well short of actually doing the tests because I don't think I may have any malware, can you please tell me if it's normal that firefox or a browser uses the same port numerous times (10080) sometimes, like more than 30 times, with only one browser open? When my connection is idle, netstat shows no connections.

I do use some gaming devices like a Logitech mouse and g15 keybaord. My firefox addons all appear to be legit. I might try and remove and reinstall firefox to see if this changes anything.

Ok, well like you said what is normal for one person may not be normal for another. I did a nestat /b /v command and found out that everything on that port is being handled by either kernel.exe avgnsx.exe which is my virus software so I'm guessing it's filtering traffic through that port or using it in some form. It's just annoying to see that many connections.

From some research I learned port 10080 is commonly used by the my.doom virus but I don't have any symptoms of that so there probably isn't a problem.

Sorry if I wasted your time, thanks for the help anyways.

Port 10080 is also used by any software making use of the Amanda Protocol.
