Fun.eXe

Hi..my computer is affected by a virus. i accidently clicked the fun.exe [folder like icon] in my pen drive. now my computer's infected.

Registry editing & control panel are disabled.

and also, my AVG anti-virus doesn't work [no updates-can't scan etc.]
i can't install any newly downloaded antiviruses.

can anyone help me out? i dunno much about computers, so need step-by-step explanations.

Please follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST link given further down and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

Helpful Notes:

1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in Safe Mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
   
   • Starting your computer in Safe mode
2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and Spybot ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
3. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
   • Don't Bump! It Only Hurts You!
4. Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

 

Nope...doesn't work as my computer's safe mode doesn't work....

 

Need a little more information. What happens? How far does your system go when powered on? Does it login to Windows? Any errors?

 

Windows boots in normal mode properly.. But i can't boot in safe mode. It goes upto the log on screen and after a few seconds automatically restarts.

 

If it boots into normal mode properly then why can't you run the scans?

 

I dunno if it is that particular virus that's causing this problem...I jus can't run scans. My AVG User Interface doesn't open up and i can't update too. As for new anti-viruses, i can't install any....

And..i downloaded some process explorer programs and found that there was no fun.exe running in my computer. But i am sure that AVG got disabled after clicking on the fun.exe in my pen drive.

 

Read my initial post, follow the instructions in red. Read carefully and thoroughly and you can get them to work. Our guides have helped millions so I know for sure they work if followed properly.
