Malware Bytes doesn't seem to remove... multiple runs?

Husband's computer got hit with the StopZilla virus or the XP AntiVirus 2009 crap (possibly both). I had to download an updated version of Malware Bytes to my laptop, put it on a jump, hard restart his computer and get into Safe Mode, load up the updated version and try and run it before the viruses started running and took over the machine.

I did a full scan, took about 25 minutes, and it came up with 50 issues. Got rid of them, it said to restart the machine to take care of a few.

I restarted, tried to allow it to go into normal mode but it gave me a black screen with a moveable cursor. Restarted and went back into Safe Mode.

Ran MB again on the faster scan, came up with 11 problems, killed them, restarted into Safe Mode again. Ran MB a third time, came up with 5 problems, repeated, rinsed. Have come up with 5 problems again.

Here is the log of the last scan:

    Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.34

Sorry about posting the log in the thread message.

By the way, have tried to install and run ComboFix but unable to get it to run.

Continue getting the same 5 problems, cannot use computer in normal mode.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST link given futher down and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • If you have problems where no tools seem to run, please try following the steps given in the below and then continue on no matter what you find. You only need to try the TDSSserv steps if having problems getting scans in the Read & Run Me First.
    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide
    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and Spybot ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

Thanks for the reply, but I received assistance from the Malware Bytes forums over the last few days and the virus has been eliminated already.

You're welcome. Thanks for informing us. We have been exceptionally busy for the last 4 months which is why it is taking so long to answer threads. :(
