Have recently seen my mozilla browser getting jacked even with adp on. Also my hard drive seems to be running constantly. Have run spybot, avg, and removed all cookies, still getting same problem. I think something or someone has hacked me and gotten something running in background I cant find. Have included my hijack recent log so let me know if anyone out there has a clue. Do have good skills but don't know everything.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST link given futher down and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If you have problems where no tools seem to run, please try following the steps given in the below and then continue on no matter what you find. You only need to try the TDSSserv steps if having problems getting scans in the Read & Run Me First.
    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and Spybot ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. To avoid addtional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advise that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky Don't Bump! It Only Hurts You!!!. Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

Tim thanks for the reply, don't mean to bother you with such trivial stuff, but have 2 teenagers that as you know think they can run and download anything. I have followed your instructions previously, then cleaned out some of the programs like AVG due to hogging the resources and such. Did you happen to notice anything in my hijack log that jumped out at you indicating a problem or issue? My background is in IT but mostly hardware and administration which I don't allow any end users access to outside applications, so you can talk tech to me if you feel comfortable with that. My certifications are in MS products MCSE & Security with about 10 years on the job but do not spend alot of time supporting teenagers using torrents and other apps that I have locked down in the enterprise arena. Thanks for the feedback and would very much enjoy chatting with you about more advanced things at your leasure.

Very bad idea. You have no protection software on this PC.

No but trying to determine if a PC is clean just by looking at a HijackThis log is silly. A HijackThis log shows next to nothing. And shows even less when not properly renamed after installing since many infections will hide themselves when the hijackthis.exe process is seen running.

If you have problems you need help with then you need to attach the logs that are requested in the instructions otherwise there is nothing else we can do for you.
