    Hi MG's :major,

I work in the electronics/IT world and know quite a bit about PC's and avoiding malware etc which I have been successful with for many years now.

Just wondering if you could help me with something I'm stuck on? I leave my laptop running jdownloader through the night and have noticed in the morning that something has made jdownloader go full screen.

As a 'sniffer' I left W7 screen recorder running on numerous nights and sure enough it records various amounts of left clicks of the mouse even though no one has used the machine in that period. An example is below with 29 clicks that particular night. (The term 'Problem Steps' is Microsofts term for 'events' btw)

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

    Recording Session: 02/12/2011 01:24:47 AM - 08:12:14 AM

Problem Steps: 29, Missed Steps: 0, Other Errors: 0

    Operating System: 7601.17640.amd64fre.win7sp1_gdr.110622-1506 6.1.1.0.2.3

Problem Step 1: User left clicked
    Program: Windows Explorer, 6.1.7600.16385 (win7_rtm.090713-1255), Microsoft Corporation, EXPLORER.EXE, EXPLORER.EXE
UI Elements: FolderView, SysListView32, SHELLDLL_DefView, WorkerW

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Problem Step 1: (02/12/2011 01:37:42 AM) User left clicked
Problem Step 2: (02/12/2011 01:40:27 AM) User left clicked
Problem Step 3: (02/12/2011 01:40:39 AM) User left clicked
Problem Step 4: (02/12/2011 01:40:39 AM) User left clicked
    ...
Problem Step 27: (02/12/2011 02:26:34 AM) User left clicked
Problem Step 28: (02/12/2011 02:29:23 AM) User left clicked

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

I have done various antivirus scans which all report everything is clean.
The program I'm using currently is Microsoft Security Essentials. Maybe not the best one but i have tried Avast, AVG, etc. I also have S&D and Ad-Aware installed. I use VirSCAN.org to pre-scan any files prior to install also.

Any ideas what could be causing the left click as last night it managed to close W7 screen recorder for the first time. The clicks on the screen seem to be in random places - like it's doing it blind hoping to get lucky and click something useful. Another run here.

Problem Step 22: (07/11/2011 02:17:00 AM) User left clicked
Problem Step 23: (07/11/2011 02:19:59 AM) User left click in "JDownloader"
Problem Step 24: (07/11/2011 02:27:44 AM) User left click in "JDownloader"
Problem Step 25: (07/11/2011 02:28:02 AM) User left click in "JDownloader"
Problem Step 26: (07/11/2011 02:28:32 AM) User left clicked

    .... more left clicks then...

Problem Step 46: (07/11/2011 03:41:33 AM) User left click in "JDownloader"

    ... more downloader clicks then...

Problem Step 50: (07/11/2011 03:48:15 AM) User left click in "JDownloader"
Problem Step 51: (07/11/2011 03:56:19 AM) User left clicked

    Report
    Recording Session: 07/11/2011 01:16:26 AM - 07:27:12 AM

Problem Steps: 121, Missed Steps: 0, Other Errors: 0

    Operating System: 7601.17640.amd64fre.win7sp1_gdr.110622-1506 6.1.1.0.2.3

I'm not sure what is causing this and would really really like to know what it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    many thanks
    Peter :confused

    Welcome to Majorgeeks.

Please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything.

Pleases follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • **** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.
