Are FireFox add-ons clean?

I wonder, as I'm installing new FireFox security-extensions in FireFox, in a new OS install, are any of those FireFox extensions designed and built to spy-on and compromise the user's private files for evil concerns?

I figured since MajorGeeks computer geniuses test-out the software they allow for download from this website, that they would have probably seriously scrutinized all the FireFox add-ons by now too. Have you?
Have you genius MG folks found anything of concern in any FireFox add-ons?

Last week I went into a FireFox forum, and some Mozilla-guy came-in posting insults. I had a little verbal fight with him in the thread, and the next day my OS's FireFox wouldn't even load. I couldn't fix it, so I erased the hd with DBAN's autonuke, and reinstalled the OS. Makes me wonder if the internet bullies get some-kind of twisted libido-rush when they arbitrarily abuse and hurt good people, they don't even know, by damaging their property? Seems there's a lot of it going on in the internet.

After an internet bully has hit my computer's OS, with whatever, I find when the OS won't boot, that if I pull the battery for a couple minutes then it'll boot. Why does that work?

Any ideas how the bullies get into the OS past all this so called "security? What is that they do to make the browser or OS not boot? What would they do to make FireFox not load? Any ideas how one would fix it?

The internet seems to be full of a lot of pain-causing bullies, and a huge assortment of various criminals doing all kinds of bullying and money-fever crimes. Seems there's nothing that can be done to stop them from their incessant bullying and crimes. Do you folks think there might one day be a second internet, a secure clean one for the good gentle honest folk and innocent kids, one that the bullies and criminals aren't allowed in to do their crazy bullying and crimes? Or is that just another world, another time, another dimension, just a silly pipe-dream?

Upon attepting to install an add on you are given a little warning, something along the lines of: "Intstall add ons only from authors you trust. Malicious software can damage your computer and violate your privacy. I think breaches in firefox security are rare but not impossible! It is wise to only install add ons that you want and need, don't go mad and grab everything.

I'm thinking "go good as it gets, in this present nasty environment, which is so darn bad.", is about all we got.. is why I'm askin' just which ff-addons are any good..? and which ones are thht..? so's I kin load up ole firefox with the right stuff...
which makes we wonder why aren't they already a part of ff..? is it cuz they're all thht..? or is it cuz ff is good enough without them..? Or maybe its that "I'm fightin' with the "bully-gods" in a game I just cain't win"..? meaning, super-hackers who can do what ever the h they wants to do with my OS, and Life... I knows that..

So the next question would have to be, Is there a good Linux-OS that the bad guys can't use as their toilet in this people eating people world..?

I'm thinking it would be real real nice to live in a good world for at least one whole day ufor I dies... What if I could run on the internet for just one whole day without them bullies a bitin' and a stingin' my PC and Life... It would be like "heaven for a day" me thinks...

Maybe we needs a second internet.. fill it up with love.. and leave them in all the crap they did in their stinky internet, for them to frolic in and play in and swim in, in their stinky pond what they made be just like they likes it.. sort of like "they's all a swimming in their precious pond stuff and lovin' it cuz it am all they ever knowd"... But better watchout!, cuz if you tosses them a line you'll be close enough fer them ta splash you with their love...

EDIT: Sorry, it was hard to spot but I believe you ARE seeking malware removal assistance and if that is the case please follow these procedures if you are indeed able to boot.

Please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything.

Pleases follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions. (In a new thread in Malware removal.)

**** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****

Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!

Helpful Notes:

If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

Starting your computer in Safe mode

If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.

To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:

Don't Bump! It Only Hurts You!!!

Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

Hmm, after you've studied Kestrel13!'s post, perhaps you can fill us in on the basics, OS, PC hardware specs, FX version, current plugins,

Then give us a brief rundown on what you would like to see added to your FX.

Do you know how to start FX (not Windows) in safe mode? Can you create a new profile? Do you know how to recover your passwords, bookmarks and cookies from a damaged FX profile?

Just trying to get a feel for your system and your FX knowledge and expectations

Security wise, plugins are probably only as good as their authors knowledge of the subject. Compatibility wise, having multiples of plugins can be a recipe for disaster at some point, it only takes 2 to cause a bad case of fretting.
