    Hi All,
I keep getting this image pop up.
I don't have BitDefender installed and I have removed it from my TEMP folder many times.
Yet it still keeps popping up.
Anti-virus scans won't remove it and neither does rebooting.
How do I stop this irritant please?

You don't say what your operating system is - we always need to know that precisely in any help thread.
Open your files - 'program files (x86)' and 'program files' (if your system is 64 bit) and 'program data' and look for anything marked as Bitdefender.
Depending on what security software you have, run a full system scan (don't choose 'quick' or 'custom') and look at the results. If you have secondary scanning programs such as Malwarebytes and/or SuperAntispyware run a FULL system scan with them too.
If after running them - and deleting anything they find - and you still get those pop ups, then you need to carry out the MajorGeeks Read & Run Me First Malware Guide and after (but only after) you have completed all the steps, post a new thread in the SPECIALIST Malware Forum and an expert will advise you further.
Since this is most likely a malware issue and not a software issue, best not to post in this thread about it again.

MT, operating System is Windows 7.

    Nick T,
I use Spybot Search and Destroy, professional version - https://www.safer-networking.org/
I do not have Ad-Aware on my pc as your linked forum suggests.

Did you carry out any of the steps in post #2? Have you had the BitDefender pop up again?

Judging by the feedback, my antivirus - Spybot - seems to be the problem.
    Here's what I have done.
I ran Autoruns by Microsoft and disabled all Spybot features.
I turned off my internet connection and rebooted my computer twice.
I next got Spybot updated (with internet activated obviously) - twice. I actually found Spybot's scanner appear in my broken bits list whilst updating. It didn't appear there on my second update.
I got all Spybot autorun features re-enabled.
    Rebooted.
Turned on Live Protection, something I failed to notice was never activated in Spybot's tray section.

I will now have to wait for results.
I also tweaked with Spybot before doing the above too but this was all around the time threat scanner was showing.

As this threat thing shows infrequently I will have to wait a week to see if it reappears.

    Max Turner,
I did carry out your suggestions.
I searched all folders for BitDefender and I ran both MalwareBytes and Superantispyware.
    I found nothing.
I decided against your suggested further steps - this will be for now that is.

If you don't get the pop ups any more then all is good.
