    Okay, here it is.

I've had a real problem with my computer. I've ran virus checks and deleted anything i can but my computer is completely screwed up.

I can log in completely fine, im on windows 7. But as soon as i log in the programs that automatically open on startup eg. Windows live messanger work fine. But if i try to open anything else it doesnt work.

I constantly get a message saying "windows explorer has stopped working" and then it restarts (this message appears every 10 seconds) and then never stops. After a few times or even trying to open a program it just ends up flashing and my task bar and all my programs keep flashing on and off constantly until nothing shows but my background picture.

I also get a message flashing up constantly going through every single .exe file on my computer saying its infected or corrupt and asks me if it wants me to activate my antivirus sofware (yes/no).

also i tried opening internet browsers but they all come up with messages about proxy servers not working or pages being harmfull to my computer even though my connection is working.

If i click yes on the "would you like to activate your antivirus software" box it opens up a website "http://antivircat.com/shop?abc=cGdpZD01JnI9NzUuMw==" which seems to be a website trying to sell me "security suite".

I've tried opening in safe mode and it seems fine but if i open safe mode with networking i get the same things that pop up when trying to open the internet normally about the proxy stuff etc.

My friend had a virus which sounded similar where it says the .exe files werent working and told me to download something called combo 6 which fixed her's fine but i cant get onto the internet on my pc and therefore cant download it and cant find it on this pc ether through not being able to find it through google.

Please help, i've just started college and will be needing my pc for my coursework.

Thank you in advance who spends their time trying to help me, anything is appreciated.

If you need any more info i will try to help but i am not too good with computers and cant locate and info on my pc.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything. Note # 2 definitely applies to you.

Please follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • **** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

After trying to do all of the above, if you are still having problems getting started or cannot run any scans while Windows is running, you may want to try creating one or more of the below CDs to boot from that allow you to run scans and perform many other tasks without Windows even being loaded. Sometimes this can help to get you started when all else fails. They can even help in cases where a previous scan may have removed something that resulted in your PC being unbootable. Again you may need to make these CDs on another PC since your PC may be in a state that prevents you from creating them.
