I do not understand as some of those are the chipset driver. You installed the modem driver correct, then I am not sure why you have a yellow mark next to modem device on high defenition audio bus.

Can you download Everest, run it in an admin account and attach the log as a text file?

Edit: okay, I see you have lost a few yellow exclamation marks.

I would recommend that if you do not notice anything wrong with the computer to not install this driver. It is an XP driver for your nVIDIA nForce 7150M-630M, AMD Hammer chipset that should include the SMB Bus driver.

If you do decide to install this I would highly reccommend that you create a restore point. And, if you have an external hard drive to install imaging software like Macrium Free or Todo Backup and image the hard drive before installing the driver. Also make sure that after booting the Restore CD that is created by the program it can detect all of your drives.

Note: in the release notes of this driver is says that

I am not sure if this means Compaqs only or HP and Compaq computers. Also please read page 18 of the release notes regarding installation and the uninstall of nTune if you have it already on your computer.

Seeing that this is a fresh install of XP it is probably a hardware issue.

If you can see the DVD drive in device manager, right click and select properties. In the Region tab make sure it is set to your country and then press okay.

Try reseating the DVD drive if that is possible. I would unplug and remove the battery if you do this.

    You can try this fixit.

Just Googling hp dv9000 and DVD not detected gives many results.

To remove the dvd drive all you have to do is remove any screws on the bottom of the laptop that have one circle next to them. Only remove the ones with one circle, because three circles is the hard drive, and two squares is the memory. Sometimes after you remove the screws there is still a release button near one of them, but not always. Usually after the screws are gone the drive will just slide right out. As tgell has pointed out, you must power down and remove the battery before doing this ;). Turn your laptop on so that it boots without the drive in, then power down again, replace the drive (firmly), now power up and see if dvd drive is recognised in device magement.
