Cant Open Adwcleaner

    I have not been able to open or complete a scan. I tried to load hitmanpro from a thumb drive yesterday, which i downloaded on a different PC (laptop) and it opened but stopped half way through.now im afraid to put that thumb drive back in my laptop. This morning I tried to open AdwCleaner from Bleepingcomputer direct from infected PC's web browser but when i click on the "open" or "save" nothing happens...my download file is empty. Please advise...thank you.

    Please download the latest version of FRST the below link.
    Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.


    Note: Make sure you download the proper version ( 32 bit or 64 bit ) for your PC. Only one will run, the correct one. So it you make a mistake and download the wrong one, go back and get the other.
    • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Press Scan button.
    • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your next reply.
    • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

    Tell me how that goes.

    Thank you TimW, since my PC will not let me download anything can I put it on a thumb on this laptop and them try to open it on the infected PC?

    okay, i was able to download the FRST64.exe on the infected PC, when I hit run an error message came up with the file extention ending in FRST64 is not a valid Win32 application...now I dont know if it thinks my OS is 32 bit because it is 64 so this is the correct file

    also, I noticed that in the window "View and track your downlods", the file FRST64.exe is there with a size of 2.3mb, so after I tried to run and the error message comes up it gives me an option to try again in this list, and when I did it says "This program couldn't be downloaded"...wondering of the full correct file is getting through or not
