Complete idiot trying to solve something he dont understand...

    Hiya,

    I hope you can help...

    I am an absolute waste of space when it comes to this sort of thing!:cry

    but i musta had 3 PCs collapse over the last year....

    I just got a HP pavillion d6000 ...Just for home use....

    i know its starting to play up and i need to fix it before it dies!!!!!

    So ive got

    Spybot - run 2/3 times a week
    adaware same again
    Avg - same
    Tune Up Utilities 2007

    i run vista

    noton is still floating around in there somewhere...
    i cant get rid of stop zilla for the life of me!
    tried the standard uninstaller - windows uninstaller etc...

    i just tried to download Hijack this - when i try to run the prog after saving it ...i try to unzip and it says
    "Cant create output file ...hijack this"

    my idea - based on reading a few posts - was to run hijack this and post results...

    Please help me out...i dont want to loose all the kids pics/memories/my work etc....

    yours frustratedly...:p

    Heres my log - although when doing it it gave me the following msgs -
    "For some reason your system denied write access to the hosts file - eit the file yourself"
    then i ok that and get the BIG RED x box saying -
    An unexpected error has occured at modmain_CheckOther1Item() Error #75 path/file error
