I have a 15" LCD currently and I was thinking of upgrading it by 2". The flat CRT is cheaper than the LCD. I want your advice whether the CRT is a good choice because I hate regreting this decision and being stuck with something shittier.

The choice depends on what you need.
I think that CRTs still perform better than LCD screens and they have a much better resolution. On the other hand, LCD screens are much more practical than the CRT "closets" even the flat CRTs.
The question is: do you need 2000x1600 resolution? If not a 17" LCD should do the job.

You may want to refer to this thread titled LCD Vs CRT, as there is a good discussion of the pros and cons of each.
