DARKBasic Professional Free

So I was reading my emails last night, when I came across a "free" slogan in TheGameCreators' newsletter (Issue 82). I scrolled down, and found out that they were giving away DARKBasic Professional, a game creation interface and library, free in the hope of inspiring more people to create better games.

I'm not too confident with programming games, but I can implement most things I learn.

Has anyone heard of this, and should I get it?

 

I've heard of it when I was looking around at how to get started in programming games. XNA Game Creator Studio, and DARKBasic were two that I had seen come up frequently. I don't know much about it beyond that, but free software is always nice. How much does it regularly cost? Is this promotion available to other people outside of subscribers to that newsletter? Share the love!

 

$69.99 from what I saw. It's available to everyone, just people who receive the newsletter will know about it.
