explorer.exe corrupt trojan.

    I have a client who has a trojan and probably a host of other crap on his computer. This is one I saw recently that when you try to launch windows explorer, task manager, or msconfig, it will pop up a box saying that it's corrupt. also, I noticed a box saying that it's going to shutdown the computer.

    I'm running Malwarebytes right now and I don't need help cleaning it, but I was wondering if any of the guys here knew what the specific name of this thing is so I can research it more? Google is not coming up with anything and McAfee's Security Center is about as useful as cap gun in a gun fight. Thanks!

    Some people know how to read the sticky threads in the forum and some don't. Obviously you are one that does not. See the below sticky thread:

    Everytime you posted, you lost your place in the queue. Everyone in the world can read your post but only authorized malware fighters are allowed to answer you and they follow the procedure mentioned in the above sticky. This is an extremely busy forum. Right now it takes 3 to 4 days to work thru the queue and this time is growing due to many new very difficult infections that are spreading.

    Knowing the name of an infection is not going to help you too much since the symptoms for infections change over time and the files and registry keys also changes over time. There have been many infections that can cause "corruption" to files. Exact word for word messages are much more helpful. If you want to know what needs to be done to find out what problems there are, well the answer is the same as always and that is in another sticky thread
