    Hello
    Newbie here,
Trying to see "blue underlined links"...but, don't
Trying to link to cleaning guide for my OS
    For example >
Sticky: READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide
Step 7: Select and run the all steps in the cleaning link below based on your Windows Operating System
You must click the blue underlined links to get to the cleaning procedures for your version of Windows!
    * If you have Vista, continue here: Vista Cleaning
I do not see "blue underlined links" ....
All I see is > If you have Vista, continue here: '???nothing is here???'
    Where are they?
    Thanks

    Hello TimW
    Not certain what you sent...
all I can view is --> for Vista
and --> for Vista is not a live link. (for me)
    Using FF 3.6.3 - sandbox'd
Do your links require some app to be view/live.
Maybe one of my add-ons....I have allowed site scripts (and globally for test). I run with Java & Flash disabled.
What may I be missing that would allow actionable links.
    Thanks for your interest

P.S I do not have this issue on any other Support site.

    Hi

Try using IE and when you login to the forum tick the "remember me" box and see if you can click the links. Yes very likely an add-on causing this so also you could run Fx (short form for Firefox) in its Safe Mode version, which disables the add-ons.

also run if you have it installed CCleaner to clean up your temps and cookies, download is HERE if not, or if this link doesnt show either just search for the application with your favoured search engine

then see if the link TimW posted now shows.

    Hi Halo
Tried FF Safe Mode (no boxes check- just plain Safe Mode)
    Links are visible and live.
FF is my preferred browser ...so, I'll pursue conflict.
Odd, do not have this issue on Bleeping or any Support Site or even MajorGeeks outside Forum...?? Odd, Forum requires something ...IDK what?
    Thanks again

EDIT > Well, the conflict is FF add-on AdBlockPlus. Links are viewed and Live with ABP Disabled
Curious why a legit site would be filtered by ABP... some third party ads or tracking ? Now that's disturbing !

    Hi

Funny enough I noticed another user having a similar issue to yours HERE with Fx and Add-block, weird occurance as I dont have that issue, but I am using a alpha version of Minefield with ad-block and its ok.

I have no idea on Ad-block and it likely finding something in maybe one of our adverts causing and issue, with many 3rd party applications it could be a false positive and they need to fix it, we as a security forum do not purposely add malicious scripts or adverts.

Try an update to Ad-block and then go into the preferences and look down the list for anything majorgeeks (other large tech support forums are also listed so does not mean they are bad, its just the advert blocking) and untick the listings and try again, hopefully the developer of this will udpate their app.

the "remember me" box tends to allow you to download anything thats listed as without it many users get a error message to the links, yes I would guess its a persistant cookie, but can be deleted with CCleaner etc

Will also ping the owners of the site here to this happening so they are aware of this.

    Hi Halo
    Took your suggestion...re FF AdBlockPlus
ABP has a Sort by Last Hit option...so, was easy to find the site filter... majorgeeks.com##a[target="blank"]
With untick...Live links are alive and well ;)
I can see the persistent cookies...just checked.
Sandboxie will dump ABP settings as I do not allow Full Profile...but, now I know where to look. Thanks !
Cookies I can handle via FF or CCleaner...if I need to.
Thanks for help with my puzzle
    Cheers

Does your HERE work...I get no thread specified. Do I have another puzzle?

The specified thread is no longer active. So, no, the HERE link is dead. Are you having malware issues?

    Good day TimW
    Thank you for your interest...
As to my purpose for registering. No Malware issues at this time. I have received Help in the past from Bleeping...which is always very busy. The Norton Community has backed off from offering specific Malware Remediation other than to refer to Bleeping. Just too difficult in an open Forum. So, I'm reviewing other options if I were to need help.
Once I bumped into the unexpected majorgeeks link issue. I had to resolve the link issue before I am able to further investigate the Community.
Running sandboxie & FF NoScript / AdBlockPlus will require some "white listing" for site compatibility.
Halo got me started and I'll follow through. Oddly, AdBlockP has never offered any problems with default filters.
    Thanks again for your interest.
