HELP - another hijackthis log review

    Hi and welcome

    Can you describe the problems you are experiencing, what type of popups etc?



    Then please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

    Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.


    After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis


    When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
    • Bitdefender
    • Panda Scan
    • HijackThis

    OK

    I follwed Steps 1-6

    1) None Found
    2) Completed
    3) Completed
    4) Downloaded CCleaner, Ad-Aware, SpyBot, Msoft Defender and Malicious Remover. I loaded CWShredder earlier this AM
    5) I ran CCCleaner and kept the log. I ran Msoft Malicious and it found nothing. I ran Ad-Ware and kept the log. I ran Defender and it found nothing.
    6) I attempted to run Bitdefender and it wouldn't let me nor would my system let me choose "install" from the information bar (it was not an option)

    What do I do now? and ps after Ad-Aware and CCCLeaner removed ALL that junk the about:blank is still there.

    Did you run PandaActiveScan in step 6? If not, please do so and attach the log.

    And since you could not run Bitdefender, run the below procedure:

    Running Ewido Anti-Malware

    Then attach the Ewido log.

    OK - I wasnt able to run Panda but here is the Ewido and HJT files. I was only able to do all of these steps in Normal mode.

    You did not attach a log file from Ewido. Please follow the directions in the link given to get the log.

    You also did not follow the directions in step 7 of the READ ME for installing and running HijackThis. You installed it exactly where we specify not to run it from:
    C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\Temporary Directory 1 for hijackthis.zip\HijackThis.exe

    Please extract it from the ZIP file and put it into the folder requested in the step 7.

    Now before getting a new HJT log, run the below procedure:

    SpywareQuake & SpyFalcon Removal Procedure

    Then attach the requested smitfiles.txt log and then get a new HJT log and attach it.

    sorry, this should be correct. I ran the SpywareQuake and Falcon and came up empty. If its any consolation the about:blank is gone! Here are my logs.

    That is not the smitfiles.txt log from SmitRem.

    Is your copy of Spyware Doctor a free trial version or a paid subscription version?
    Is your copy of Ewido a free trial version or a paid subscription version?

    You HJT log is clean. Are you having any other malware problems?
