    Hello, I'm new here.
Two weeks ago my pc was infected: Firefox and Word open in 2 windows instead of one, Firefox open too many tabs and text cannot be marked in Firefox etc.
I have XP Professional SP2, use Avast, Malwarebytes Antimalware Pro, SuperAntiSpyware Pro but only Emsisoft Emergency Kit found a Trojan-spy.win32.winspy! IK and deleted the file from C:\WINDOWS\svrfont.exe
But the problems did not dissapear. I used again many scans, RKill, Dr.Web, Hitman Pro, Norman Malware Cleaner, SmitfraudFix (which seemed to solve a little, running in safe mode but the problems come back).
Now I don't have anymore sound on internet, on YouTube and Facebook, except in my BSplayer.
Using HijackThis, I see a running process which is suspicious: C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE, except the normal C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe
Also, at 09 there are 2 Extra button: (no name).....(no file) and at 017 (Norman Malware found this "potentially unwanted registry value", exactly like: "HKCR\.exe - - shell" but I did not remove them).
I really need your advice for hijackthis.log which is attached.
Thank you in advance for your help!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything. Note if you cannot save things in C:\ then just save them to your Desktop. Make sure that you have disable UAC and rebooted first if you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7.

Please follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • **** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!

    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:

Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

    Thanks for your prompt reply.
Of course I already finished all these instructions before posting the log.
Now I made again a scan with SmitfraudFix in safe mode (as user, not only as administrator). It seems the pc is ok now but I still don't have sound on YouTube and Facebook.
Now there is only one process C:\WINDOWS\ Explorer.EXE, the other one (explorer.exe) has dissapeared.
Please, give me an advice regarding this new hijackthis log, which is attached.

Please attach the requested logs from doing the Read and Run First instructions:

    SAS
    MBAM
    ComboFix
    RootRepeal -- if it runs
    C:\MGLogs.zip

    Thanks again for your reply.
As I said, after using SmitfraudFix as user (not only as administrator), the problems dissapeared.
The sound problem was only on Youtube and Facebook (not on other websites!) and I solved that: the volume was set "off" (not by me).
My pc is ok now, after 3 weeks of troubles.
Anyway, before I wrote here, I did my usual scans with SAS and MBAM and found nothing.
Only Emsisoft Emergency Kit found a trojan spy and deleted but still did not solve the problems.
    SmitfraudFix was excellent!
That's why I have no reason to scan with ComboFix and RootRepeal (the last one is new for me!).
Thank you very much for your advice.
I wish you all the best! :)
