IE is automaticall opening multipe windows (HELP)

Thanks in advance for the help. We've used directions in these forums to remove Pest Patrol from another computer but are stumped with a different problem.

IE is automatically opening up multiple windows. To date, I've had windows open to about 25 different web sites. The websites include 3 general types - anti-virus ads (systemdoctor2006, errorsafe, winantispyware, drivecleaner, amaena, etc.), shopping/search sites (shopica, toseeka, monsterdeals, grabfreegoods, etc), and porn sites ('nuff said).

Default home page also keeps getting redirected to msn.com.

The unwanted IE windows seem almost scheduled. The problem does not always start when the computer is booted up. I've seen several instances where the first pop-up occurs at the top of the hour (6:00 pm is almost guaranteed.) If there is activity on the computer, the next window will open after 10 - 15 minutes and the interval between pop-ups will gradually increase. If there is no activity on the computer, a bunch of windows will open up within the first 30 minutes. Often there are hours when we don't have any problems. (Actually thought we fixed this twice now - only to have the windows pop-up again the next day.)
