    Hi,

I've been up for days trying to remove all of the trojans in my computer. I do not receive any popups anymore but i have another issue now that i cannot solve.

My internet loading for pages is super slow now or it comes to a complete halt, other weird things that have happened is my keyboard would just stop working and my desktop will sometimes freeze up.

I need help trying to figure out what is doing this to my computer.

I am running a dell inspiron with windows vista...anythingthing would help.

(Also i did use a lot of the free spyware removal and virus programs recommended on this site.)

    Hi Vivid Junky,
    Welcome to Major Geeks!

The software recommended by this site wouldn't hurt your computer as long as it's compatible with your operating system and other programs you have installed. When people come to us with malware, we ask that they work through the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST and attach the logs so we can see what is actually going on in the computer. In your case, it's possible that you have too many programs installed which are conflicting with each other. I would like for you to tell me what you're installed and run so far and then go to the Vista Cleaning Procedure and download and run the MGTools. Please use the 2nd MGTools link called Using MGTools as this has both the download link and the instructions for how to install and run the tools correctly. This will give us a better idea what is going on. When you finish that, please attach the MGlogs.zip (you'll find it located directly under C: ) when you use the Manage Attachments and browse buttons here to attach it

Thanks for the quick response abri,

I did go to the "Vista Cleaning Procedure" and tried following the directions through all the steps. I had installed everything that was recommended on the site. To be honest though it could just be user error and i may have too much installed and or didn't do it properly.

Here is what i can see that i have installed currently:

    a-squared free 3.5
    AVG 8.0
    Hijack this 2.02
    Kaspersky Online scanner
    Malwarebytes Anti Malware
    Spybot search and destroy
    spywareblaster 4.0
    SUPER antispyware free edition
ZoneAlarm(had this for a while now)

Seems like to me i may have too much going on at once hehe.

I followed the instructions for MGtools and ran the program correctly. I have the zip file ready but unfortunately the upload just hangs and will not let me attach the file (another problem I've been having is attaching files and uploading)

    What should I do now?

    Hi Vivid Junky,

You have most of the scans we request. Please attach the MGlogs.zip as well as the MalwareBytes and SuperAntispyware logs. There are several reasons why you may be having trouble uploading the logs or using the Manage Attachment button. Be sure to click on the Remember Me button when you log on. This keeps a session cookie which will be deleted if you have your browser set to delete cookies, but it will keep you from being logged off. The other thing which may be causing problems with the Manage Attachments buttons is because there seem to be because of high internet traffic. There are a lot of lags going on recently with the site.

    Thanks.

I've taken the liberty of just posting the hijack this log because it is not just the site that is giving me problems, i cannot upload anything period. I can post the other logs in a moment.

    Hi VividJunky,

Please go to How to properly run Combofix and see if you can get that to run and attach (or if you can't attach, post) the results back.

    Hi Vivid Junky,
When you finish Combofix, please to to the Vista Cleaning Procedure and look for the instructions for running the MGTools and run them. If you're still having trouble with attachments, after you run them, go to the MGTools folder directly under C: and inside you should find two logs, newfiles.txt and runkeys.txt. Please post these to me as well. At the beginning of your post to me, please add a note to the Admins to please not delete the inline logs.
    Thanks.

    Hi VividJunky,
You don't know how happy I am to hear that! :D

Please be sure to go to add/remove programs and uninstall Viewpoint Media Player and if it's there, Viewpoint Manager.

Then I would ask you to read through the How to Protect Yourself from Malware to make sure you have the right protection - enough without too much.
