I have a virut i believe its the reader_s.exe trojan, well its really starting to feel impossible to delete so i want to know if it is possible to save my files on my D: partition and delete and reinstall windows on my C: so that i do not lose my files? And also would it be possible to clean install windows without deleting my second partition with my files on them so that i do not get the virus again. (this would be my second reformat because the virus came back after a format) Any help would be much appreciated.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Virut infections can infect every single executable file on ALL partitions of all hard disks and also any removable devices plugged into your infected system. Thus, if your other partition contains any executable files or if you have backed up any executable files, you can respread the infection to your freshly reinstalled drive in a very short time frame. If it does not come back immediately, all it takes is for you to run anyone of the possibly infected executable files from your other partition or drives, and this will spread the infection again. The safest option with these kinds of infections is to delete everything and start over totally from scratch.

I now see that you had started two other threads. Those two threads will be merged together and this current thread you are reading will be closed since messages would appear out of order if merged into the other threads.
