Ok I was fooled into opening a YIM file sent thru a friend who apparently did the same...anyways I was instructed to install and run malwarebytes but issue I had on desktop was it wouldn't let me run it after install so I was instructed by my other pc guy to DL and run combofix.....issue with that was for some reason I wasn't permitted to download it....so I used a flashdrive to DL from laptop both combofix and malwarebytes anti malware...well after using flashdrive to install it in desktop I tried to run malwarebytes but it start but then just disappear...BTW my system restore was turned off thru this virus so that's out of question. I then tried to run combofix and I presume the virus was expecting it so it acted like it was gonna load but no go anyways I was instructed by my pc friend to try something(I chose not to say due to inventor of said virus may visit and read) but it worked this time. I can now run both combo fix and malwarebytes and system restore is back on..only issue is internet access gone...it shows connected but nothing in sending or receiving...I checked all internet settings and all appear fine..my laptop runs off wifi as does my iphone and so does my satellite box and they all receive no issue so bottle neck is at desktop somewhere. Please help..

I tried this on desktop after combofix:

system restore: result it couldn't restore to earlier date
malwarebytes: it found more stuff I clicked to delete it but 5/6 threats couldn't be deleted so it put it for removal/deletion via reboot but I don't think it removed them. I am running malwarebytes again but it takes over a hour to see results thus can't view logs and as for combofix log I forgot where to access it. If told where it is I will create a .doc file and attach it so you all can see.

Please attach the logs from running MBAM. Try locating the log from Combofix in C:\combofix.txt, run a search for combofix if you can't find it, it should be knocking around somewhere.

Then please also try running SUPERantispyware and getting me the logs from that as well as logs from MGTools.exe. I will link to our complete malware procedures below in case you haven't already seen them:

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything.

Pleases follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • **** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

Thanks I was instructed what to do and internet is back up..anyways using Malwarebytes I notice after internet connection and updated also prior to that after running full scan I have same eleven viruses show up and once removed it shows same 5 can't be deleted so it set it up for deletion on reboot I do so and run malwarebytes again and same viruses r still there...I deleted and rebooted 5 or so times and even searched individually and erased like 3 I found as zip files...could it be it a false positive result from malwarebytes? Everything seems to be running fine and just as speedy as before. If you need me to find and upload results from combofix and malwarebytes I will...is there a better free malware figther...you mentioned supermalware whats that?

I don't know without seeing the logs from everything.

Yes please I need logs from the following, which you would know already if you had read the R&R properly :)

    • SUPERantispyware
    • Malware Bytes
    • Combofix
    • MGTools
    • RootRepeal

It's called SUPERantispyware and we like users to run it as well as running MBAM because what one doesnt' find, the other will. You need to follow through the Read and Run Me thoroughly and post the requested logs, then I can work up a fix for you.

    Thanks
    Kes13!:)

    hi there :)

before you attach anything else please be aware that we request logs to be attached as notepad text files.... not word pad or otherwise.

also worth remembering this is important, try and get yourself settled while we work thru the malware removal process, mistakes cannot be made.

    Thanks

I know you're going to get round to it, but don't forget that I need to see the C:\Mglogs.zip too from running MGTools.exe :) and ensure your'e running steps in the correct order!
