Just can't quite get it figured out

Okay, I have a dell demension 2400 I got from a lady who wanted me to "fix it". I am pretty good at troubleshooting and repairing I would like to think, but between the long hours at work and other hobbies, I just don't have the patience or energy. It is running xp home edition sp2, because auto updates or even a notification of updates has been turned off most of the time she has owned it apparently. I finally removed all the programs she said she doesnt use anymore along with her son's utorrent, bittorrent and dna programs. I have gotten rid of lots of spyware and malware along with some registry mishaps due to the infections and the loads of hp software she had loaded on. (most of which I am regrettably going to have to keep because she likes it knows it and thinks its necessary) It seems like it had some form of the antivirus2008 deal on it, but not quite the same as the others I have fixed with the same issue. Anyways, the problems I am still having is this:
-rundll32.exe does not stop on shutdown or restart commands. (i linked a rundll32.exe to the intel graphics driver, which i uninstalled and reinstalled with the most up-to-date, but it did nothing)
-even after manually ending rundll.exe it still takes about ten solid minutes to shutdown of left alone, showing no messages the whole time.
-no matter what browser is used it is extremely slow loading pages, though a download seems to take the same amount of time as any other computer on this same network.
-i cannot access windows update to try to update the .net framework or sp. I get a "page not available"
-i loaded avg free 8.5 on it as an antivirus that would run for her without much popups or intrusion, though during windows boot it wants to chkdisk due to hard shutdowns and has a problem with what im pretty sure is the installation file I used for avg...

I made a log and hopefully someone can get me going in the right direction. I have this one, another one she gave me from her work, and another after these two. I will start on the other while I'm waiting I guess. Thanks in advance, Mike.

Start on the other which? If you are referring to HJT logs please refrain as we have it pre built into our own tools here.

If you are referring to other computers, then please be aware that you would need to create seperate threads for each different machine to save confusion on both our parts :)

Regardless of all that you need to follow through the below and complete as much of it as you can before I can offer you any assistance:

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything.

Pleases follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • **** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

Post back with the requested logs when you are ready. Then we can make a start on cleaning this computer of malware.
