    Hi all,
I've read a similar thread when I put this into the title. Let me tell you what happens.
Recently my laptop will freeze every time I close the lid and it goes to sleep. When I click to get back into Windows, it will slow down and freeze, where I can't open anything. I have to shut off an turn back on, and it will work fine.
Before this I tried to install Symantec, as I get a free version through my university. It would not install as it said some updates were not finished installing. I would install again and again and reboot again and again. I also tried to install AVG free, same problem. Finally, I was able to install Avira Antivir Free, and ran a full scan. It found 2 trojans. Deleted them.
I then ran everything in the read me section, and did every scan and cleaning and have logs.
After, I tried shutting the lid, and it froze again. When I have it plugged in and it doesn't go to sleep it's fine, it's just when I close the lid w/o plugin and it goes to sleep.
Any suggestions on how to get rid of this?
I'll attach logs if they're helpful.
Thanks a bunch, I really appreciate it!
    Colin

Hi, the RootRepeal and MGTools logs wouldn't attach due to file types being invalid. What can I do for these?

Attach the correct logs and you will not have a problem.;)

Do you think this is malware related?

Everytime you add unnecessary posts, you bump your thread and add more delay in getting an answer. See:Don't Bump! It Only Hurts You!!!

You are not having malware problems. Your logs are clean. I suggest that you post in the Software or Hardware Forum. Many people have issues with hibernation. Sometimes it is a software issue.

Since you are not havingmalware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    5. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
