Hi - I would appreciate any help you guys could give me and I won't soon forget it.

I've been having trouble with this one for a while now. I make music however I don't have a burning program, so a friend of mine said he would lend me his Nero.

I let him install it and all that jazz, then I put my songs on a CD and burn them for Christmas.

However a while later after a restart I notice my NOD32 (Which my friend also lent to me a while back) is gone and a blatant virus staring me in the face saying something like 'Your Anti Virus is gone, blah blah blah, windows help is here' It was a big circle X icon.

An occasionally a window, which looks mockingly like my control panel security window opens up and shows as if I had no virus protection, and on top of that a blatant advertisement for some infectious garbage to clean it all up.

I obviously don't click it, go into my Task Manager, look for any wierd stuff and end process.

Little to no luck stemming the problem did I find my computer was no randomly freezing up. It was like it would start slowly, first I couldn't click anything on the current window, but at the bottom I'd switch to different windows and then that would freeze and I'd have to manually turn it off.

So I boot up, run in safe mode, look around and find the process exe in my Temp folder, I can't remember the name of it, but it was something 64.exe.

I also look in my program files for Nod to see where it went, it wasn't deleted however apparently hidden.

I run a cleaner, it finds three files and deletes them - I'm all happy and relieved.

Restart in normal mode and boom, I solved the fake alerts but my computer is still crashing, I've noticed a rundll32.exe that looks very suspicious, but it leads to files in my temp folder relating to nVidia.

From there I've tried downloading Malware Bytes, wouldn't install (Until I named it mb.exe) and now it is installed, big surprise, it won't run.

I've tried running Kaspersky Online Scanner 7.0 but whenever it gets to winrnr.dll in my 32 folder, it crashes my system.

I am currently enrolled at a Game Development course and I am behind - if I can't fix this problem by next week, I'll probably be kicked out and my life will most definetly be ruined.

Either way, I'm not sure if my friend knew what was going on but I am certainly pissed and no longer going to let him go anywhere near my computer let alone house.

    Here is the HijackThis log:

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything.

Please follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • **** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:
    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.
