I am going through the Windows XP Cleaning Procedure and am stuck on the very first part. No matter what I change the file name to I'm not able to install SUPERAnitSpyware. Whenever I try to run the .exe it says "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation" The Malware that has infected my computer has prevented me from opening the task manager it says "Task Manager has been disbaled by your administrator"

Another problem I'm having is that the "C:" drive does not come up if I click on "My Computer." I have manually type in "C:" in the navigation bar to get to it.

My first inclination was to just reformat my computer and start all over, but when I try to go through the reformatting process it says that there are no hard drives installed on my computer. I have no idea what to do for this, I've reformatted many computers before and that was always a fail safe if anything got too screwed up. Now I can't even do that! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Apologies if I've forgotten anything, this is my first post.

    Hi

The problem is that the malware infections have caused a few items to be disabled, primarily the Windows Installer facility which is why you can't install Superantispyware. I now suggest you read through the information and follow the steps provided in the below link:

    http://www.superantispyware.com/supportfaqdisplay.html?faq=50

If for some reason you still can't install and run Superantispyware just continue on and run as many steps as you possibly can. Try running Malwarebytes AntiMalware before running any other scans and then continue on thru the whole READ & RUN ME and complete all steps.

Do keep me updated on how things are going, and post any problems you may run into!

    Thanks
    Kestrel13!
