Ok, so everything was fine the night before the update, I have a laptop and cnonect to the internet through the wireless router, it is running windows vista, i sometimes leave it on, either because I'm downloading something or just because i forget to turn it off. So that night everything ok and then in the morning I say the Malwarebytes msg that it just updated and needed to restart, so i just clicked on the button to restart.

Ok so it restarts and now i cant connect to the internet, it does detect the wireless connection, and the little tray icon with the 2 computers does turn blue, but the internet doesn't work and i cant connect to my other computer via network either, and i tried connecting through a network cable but still same result, any ideas?

I don't know if the Malwarebytes update actually made this happen or not, but it did happen after the restart for the latest update, this was on Wednesday morning i believe. Thanx.

    edit
I posted here since i think it might be something to do with Malwarebytes, if there is a better place to post pls let me know thanx.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

If you think it is something related to a scan you ran with Malwarebytes then just restore any items you deleted. If that does not help then perhaps it is not related to Malwarebytes. You can try a System Restore to a point where things were working or you can run the below malware cleaning procedure if you suspect malware problems.

Please follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST link given futher down and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • If you have problems where no tools seem to run, please try following the steps given in the below and then continue on no matter what you find. You only need to try the TDSSserv steps if having problems getting scans in the Read & Run Me First. If TDSSserv is not found, just continue on with the READ & RUN ME.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide
    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.

    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:
    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and Spybot ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

ok, i followed the instructions and made sure to do every step, still the same, finds the connection but no internet and no network, although when i went into safe mode it did connect normally, but well here are the log files

oh and when i right click on the tray icon for the network and click on diagnose and repair it gives me the option to restore network protocols to default settings but i haven't done that yet just in case

Malwarebytes did not delete anything nor has it been updated. Your problem does not appear to be due to malware and your logs are clean. I suggest you check to make sure you network is properly setup and also make sure that you are not blocking anything with your ESET Smart Security. Make sure you have allowed your browsers thru the firewall and properly defined your network. This is something you can discuss in the Networking Forum if you need help.

can this be moved to the network section? and well, i though it had something to do with it since it happened after i restarted from the malewarebytes update, and well, it does work when i log in on safe mode, why would it work then? thanx

I'll move it now. But once I move it, I will probably not see this anymore since I'm focused on the Malware Forum and have little time to check the other forums.

Because various drivers and software are not loaded in safe mode. Even things for your ESET software are different in safe mode which is why I suggested checking your settings. You may want to boot in normal mode and shut down all of ESET especially the firewall and see what happens. If you cannot shut it down, you could temporarily uninstall it to see what happens. If it is not due to ESET you will have to experiment with other software and drivers that are loading in normal mode but not in safe mode.

actually some how it now works, i did turn uf eset firewall and stuff but didnt seem to work even after restart, so i just decided to go into safe mode and the internet works there, so i updated the antivirus and malwarebyts and stuff and decided to use msconfig in diagnistics mode, so then i restarted in normal mode and it didnt work, at all, so i changed the msconfig back to normal mode and restarted and now it works, no idea why but it does, lol, thanx
