Heya, this is my first post, I kinda feel bad doing it here but this is really the only reason why I came to these forums so I didnt feel like making an introductory thread. (also I suck at socializing)
First thanks for providing help free of charge, I hope my case wont be much of a bother for the good of both parties.

    Now to explain the situation:
I use this pc for gaming, I've had it for years and I never had any problem with it, most are old games since this pc cant take much, the best looking game I have is garrysmod and I run it on low-medium settings overall and it ran great.
but a few months ago it became slow for no reason.. I can see that the cpu has very high usage for things that should barely bother it, such as opening a folder or watching a movie. Its really frustrating, I've tried done every step in the sticky but one since it has a problem and it doesnt seem to run. I also just recently noticed that both my DVD readers have stopped working correctly; they can barely read anything and surely cant be trusted for burning.
example: I tested them the other day by trying it to run one of my games but it wouldnt autorun nor execute the exes, I could explore it though, I left it on overnight running a scan and came back to find an exe running that should be from one of the cds which was not in the drive anymore, the exe only appeared in the list and was taking half the cpu but it didnt show anywhere else, it was d2l_Install.exe if it matters

I dont know what could cause this, at least the hardware didnt seem to be under any more stress than usual so I thought it could be so I am using this forum as a last resort. However since I am a bit of a computer illiterate I've decided to post an everest log along to show what parts my pc has.
I dont think I've have anything noticeable installed that could have affected my pc but I did notice that after running defogger to stop demontools the DVD custom images started showing when I tried to run a cd. I dont think it was the cause of it all though I could be wrong.
Damn, I really suck at making things simpler =X

    Short version:
High cpu usage for small tasks
DvD readers dont work (Drive D: and E: to be more precise)
MGTools doesnt work, I tried to run it from commands and even manually from another thread but it just opens the command window and closes it almost instantly after

Second post for the everest system resume.

EDIT: also I've realized one thing I forgot to say, I hope I am not posting in the wrong forum, I think my problem might be related to malware, but as I'm very ignorant I am not completely sure. (though at least the Drive problem might be hardware only, but I just found out about it and since it might be related I decided to include it)

Sorry for the walls, I seem to really not do well at expressing myself :/
I hope I didnt forget anything.

I am not seeing any malware in hose logs, however please run the below:

I want you to run TDSSKiller so refer to the below for how to do so.

    TDSSkiller - How to run

Please also download MBRCheck to your desktop
    • Double click MBRCheck.exe to run (vista and Win 7 right click and select Run as Administrator)
    • It will show a Black screen with some information that will contain either the below line if no problem is found:
      • Done! Press ENTER to exit...
    • Or you will see more information like below if a problem is found:
      • Found non-standard or infected MBR.
      • Enter 'Y' and hit ENTER for more options, or 'N' to exit:
    • Either way, just choose to exit the program at this point since we want to see only the scan results to begin with.
    • MBRCheck will create a log named similar to MBRCheck_07.16.10_00.32.33.txt which is random based on date and time.
    • Attach this log to your next message. (See: HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post )

    Download OTL to your desktop.

    • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
    • Vista and Windows 7 users Right-click OTL and choose Run as Administrator)
    • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
    • Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
    • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.

When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.

Attach both of these logs into your next reply.

    Thanks for the answer!
I've done as you said, and also included TDSSKiller and MBRCheck logs too, but they didnt find anything so they might be unecessary.
I'm starting to wonder what the problem may be... I really expected to find something.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required (If we renamed it please rename it back to Combofix.exe.
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Thanks a lot for helping me, guess Malware is out of the question.

What do you think I should do? post this in the software forums? I mean, I dont think Its an hardware problem, but I could be mistaken (the drives might be though), but really, I understand almost nothing about both.

Funny, the file for MGtools removal gave me the same error that the other gave: file not found. Just before it closed itself and did its job. (I think It cleaned itself well, at least I cant find the folder anymore, weird)
