    After my system was playing up a bit, I ran a scan with AVG and had some Java\ByteVerify errors I could not remove.
    I have now gone through every thing I could in the "READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support" thread.

    I couldnt finish running Microsoft Windows Defender as it crashed just after it scanned.
    The online scans also could not complete thier run.

    SpyBot did find and remove a few spywares.

    I have attached my Hyjackthis log. Please help :rolleyes:

    Ok I have gone a bit further now.
    I ran the Hijack this log through both of the online checks which were suggested in the HJT log page. I fixed all that they suggested but I still have problems.

    Every time I reboot my C:\ Explorer page opens up for some reason.

    Also when I run WindowsDefender I get an error 0x80501001.

    Here is the latest HJT log.

    Hi Jeff


    Please do follow the Read Me guide as you haev missed out some very important steps,

    GetRunKeys
    ShowNew
    Panda Online Scan
    Bitdefender Online Scan logs not attached,

    Hijackthis installed and run from the exact location we mention not to install and run it from as in C:\Documents and Settings\Jeff\Desktop\Malware tools\Analyse.exe

    Skip Defender and run CounterSpy instead.

    But please attach all the requested logs, Hijackthis is a good scanner for mainly browser hijacks and some other malwares, but it does not find all, which is why the other scans & logs are needed.

    Hi Halo,

    I have attempted every step on the READ and RUN ME FIRST thread.

    When I downloaded and unzipped GetRunKey there is no getrunkey.bat file there. There were 3 files unzipped AUTOEXEC.NT, command.com and CONFIG.NT.

    Both online seaches crash before they can be completed. I tried the several times and they always crash at the same spot. I have scince tried to run my AVG virus scan again a couple of times, and it always crashes 6 mins into the scan just after finding a Trojan.
    I am trying everything I can, but it keeps crashing before I can finish.
    Any suggestions?

    You did not download the GetRunKey.zip file. Look again. You download a file that you only need if you receive an that error message while running GetRunKey.bat. Look at the bottom of the link for the attached download file BY NAME.

    Please run this Running Ewido Anti-Malware instead of the online scanners.

    When you finish the READ ME, you should then be attaching the below logs:
    - runkeys.txt from GetRunKey
    - newfiles.txt from ShowNew
    - the log from the Ewido scan
    - a HijackThis log
