Please help!!!

    I recently had a virus/trojan/malware i'm not exactly sure, but it popped up looking like a legitimate Windows software and it was warning me that I had SEVERAL problems I needed to get rid of. Well, this thing popped up every 5 secs with new problems. I didn't know how to get rid of it, so I did a system restore. The virus or whatever it may have been seems to be gone as it is no longer in my startup tray. But now, I can't search the internet through any site! Google, Yahoo, even this site, if I try to search, I get blank results. I can go to any website I want, but if I try to do any type of search, I get no results. Please respond in the most "i'm talking to a 5 year old" way when trying to explain how to fix this please. I will need step by step instructions. Thank you so much for any help!

    Each time you "bump" ...you put yourself at the end of the line!!

    Don't Bump! It Only Hurts You!!!

    You are hurting yourself as we work oldest to newest!! You keep going to the end of the line.

    I need the log from running ComboFix.

    In the meantime, please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    Now:
    Download HostsXpert and then follow the below steps.

    • Unzip HostsXpert.zip
    • It will create a folder named HostsXpert in whatever folder you extract it to.
    • Run HostsXpert.exe by double clicking on it.
    • Click the Make Writeable? button. (if you only see a Make Read-Only selection, it is already writeable so skip this button).
    • Click Restore Microsoft's Hosts File and then click OK.
    • Click the X to exit the program


    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\ComboFix.txt
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    here is the combofix attachment. I'm sooo sorry for bumping, i didn't know. I mean no disrespect to any of you guys. My dad's computer is just soo important to me and he left it to me after he passed to care for it. I'm just so scared that i've screwed up. Thank you for your time, it is greatly appreciated. I'm sorry once again.

    Just slow down Misty...you aren't showing anything in regard to major malware.

    Did you do as I asked?

    If you did, I need the new MGLogs.zip as well.

    And you have combo here:
    n:\desktop\ComboFix.exe .....what is that? It needs to be running from C:\Documents and Settings\*user account*\desktop\ComboFix.exe
