Anyone have issues trying to get on the forum? Been talking with Phillipp all morning and couldn't get on using Chrome, Edge, FF, PaleMoon or Opera. Kept getting a message saying unsecure. Out of frustration, tried TOR and got on. Could get to the main page, but not the forums.

Yesterday evening. Something about SSL address being to long, defaulted to majorgeeks main page when using link. downforeveryone said it was up. Seemed to be correct, my browsers wouldn't let me visit though. Didn't try the RSS feed, not my thing.

I had issues this morning and emailed Tim and Jim. The forum seems to be working okay right now for me at home. I was at work all day, though, but was able to log on when I checked this afternoon. I thought maybe it was my wireless because I got home and had the same issue. I rebooted my wireless router and I'm back up.

sidetracked in the middle of this post by having a tech issue.....Of course, I just had to call Verizon because my wireless was like molasses (I feel for you all on dial up..omfg). I love Verizon support (and I am so not being sarcastic). He was awesome and even gave me a tip on boosting my signal. lol...he went into his shopping cart to let me know which Mesh Network device he was getting...Google wifi.

Anyway, my connection here is fine now.

I had the message SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR cannot provide secure connection coming up.
I could get onto the home page but not the forum
I tried typing in the forum URL but still the same error.
Appears to be fixed now......maybe an SSL certificate issue.... BTW I tried to login using Chrome and IE o_O
First I thought it was a Microsoft problem because I had just installed some critical updates and the problem occurred as soon as the pc rebooted lol

edit: I tried on two i7 computers one win 10 with all updates and one win 7 with all updates

Yep, yesterday eve and today just up to now I couldn't get in. (insecure) I emailed MA hours ago. This happened to IE11, Fx ESR and Pale Moon. I just read to do this: Start> type Command Prompt and type: flushdns & hit enter. That worked for me or perhaps it was a coincidence?

Whew! ... I was worried it was just me:confused: Searches just mainly dealt with servers like Apache, port 443, and certificates. Nothing was significant for a client. Thought I'd give the forums one last try. Hurray! It works for the moment:rolleyes:

When I was having the problem I flushed the DNS cache and also cleared the ARP layer but it made no difference as it was an SSL protocol problem. Luckily someone has fixed this and I am now having no problems so a big thank you to whoever fixed the problem:D:cool:

It has to be ipconfig /flushdns

And did that already and no hope.

Correct Tim and then arp -d and this didn't help me either.....

ROFLMAO ....Tim said it was Jim's fault....Jim says it was Tim's fault. And we just have to "wait for the dns to recache".

Yesterday evening couldn't get on till 9:eek:o. Tried ie11, opera and slimbrowser. Also tried the iPhone. Today no luck a.m. or at lunch. Just now got on tonight. All had something like 'no secure connection'. Even tried a new FF install. Now is good, what of tomorrow?

I could not get into the Forums last night either. I was able to get here once early today but then was not able later in the day until just now. I never got any error messages I just got redirected to the Home page for MG every time I tried to get to the Forums. Weird!

    Greetings all.

    Weird coincidence:

I use DotEasy for website hosting, and yesterday received an email concerning the probability of Google blocking my sites because of the lack of the "https" designation.

A link to check my site was included - which of course rang the insecure cherries because it ain't https.

Prolly nothing to do at all with the MG thing, but if Google puts its foot down and makes everybody switch there could be a major hangup, especially for older sites.

Might even be worse than the Y2K bug !!

Yeah, the coincidence thing was the hook - looks like I'll have to fork out a couple of bucks. Yuck.

Off topic, I know. But can someone help me with my troll problem? Got this guy relentlessly spamming another site with no moderators, and he never gives up, and his ISP doesn't do shit.

I am afraid that there is nothing we can do. We advise on computer issues, not trolls.
