    Hey guys,
I think this is the proper place to post this, seeing as how it's not really a plea for help.

I've been intrigued with malware for a little while, and was curious as to how I could learn what the malware fighters here know.

Before we jump on anything here folks, I know it takes a lot of work from reading a thread similar to this posted a little while back from Zack.

I'm eager to learn if anyone feels that they would "take me under there wing", so to speak.
    Let me know.
    Thanks,
    Spock96

Unfortunately we are too busy to offer training to anyone who is not already a recognized expert. There are a few websites that provide training rooms. The process can take awhile to complete since there is a lot to learn and the people training you are doing it in their free time. Make sure that you are serious about wanting to spend the time to learn and have the time to perform malware removal this because it takes a strong committment. Check out the below sites:

No problem, Spock. When I first started, I was not that up on systems, but there was no one else other than Chaslang. It was a long haul for me to learn. Similar situation with Emma. but she had Chas and me to help her. Filipos came in with an extensive knowledge of systems and picked it up very fast. Just depends on your experience. ;)

And that is how they got to be a top-notch team.

I'll just add my 2 cents (don't know if you want them or not :-D ) but for a couple months while I was looking for work, I was also interested in Malware removal, joined Geek U and I loved it.

It was A LOT of work, I'd spend many, many hours researching terms and looking up what things mean and doing everything my instructor told me but it was very rewarding when my instructors told me I got it right. I was a Geek U junior (they rank you just like in school, you start out a freshman) when I got a job and unfortunately I had to stop. I tried to keep up with my homework after I got home from work but just couldn't keep up due to my now lack of free time.

I really enjoyed it, I love learning (especially when things really fascinate me) but real life got in the way. If you have the time, and the desire, (especially the time) then I say go for it. ;)

I bow down to our malware team as they are superb and I do not have the patience that they have with malware removal, my bit is you should not be infected to start with as most are infected via warez!

But I will say that its a great field to get into and stick with as it will give you vast insight into how OSes work.
