Ok lets try this for the 3rd time....
Everytime I am on the net (mostly IE) and sometimes with firefox, a window states that ithas encountered a problem and needs to close.

I have followed ALL the steps with the exception of the bitdefender and pandascan which I cant use or i get immediatly kicked off. All the scans did find a substantial amount of adware etc. but I assume this is not the problem at hand.

I tried havinghijackthis correct a few of the issues that were recognizable but still same problem....ay advice?

    Thanks! And gret site BTW!!

Ok zip attachment doesnt seem to work...

I don't know what you are talking about but is this a continuation of the other thread you started:

    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=84923

If so, you must remain in one thread for a particular problem. I closed the other thread now so stay here.

Please explain why you cannot run the online scanners.

There is really nothing major in your HJT log but you should have it fix the below lines:
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {9394EDE7-C8B5-483E-8773-474BF36AF6E4} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {BDBD1DAD-C946-4A17-ADC1-64B5B4FF55D0} - (no file)
    O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BDAD1DAD-C946-4A17-ADC1-64B5B4FF55D0} - (no file)
    O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://bar.mywebsearch.com/menusearch.html?p=ZS

The scanners only work with IE, I am using firefox as of yesterday. he problems still here but not nearly as much as with IE. It says such and such has encountered a problem and needs to close and shuts the browser down.

I already fixed the problemsyou stated....???

Yes but we specify that you must use IE. If you use IE, can you run the scans? RIght now your problems do not appear to be malware but we could did a little deeper.

You can try the two scans below and attach your logs from them:

    Running Spy Sweeper

    Running Ewido Security Suite

Spy Sweeper did not run properly. Where you running anything else at the same time?

However your problems are looking more and more like they are not malware issues.

I would suggest you do the below two procedures and if it does not help, I would then say you should ry posting a request for help in the Software Forum.

    Procedure 1:
    1. Please download and unzip Rootkit Revealer to your desktop.
    2. Please leave the defaults set as they are to:
      • Hide NTFS Metadata Files: this option is on by default
      • Scan Registry: this option is on by default.
    3. Launch rootkit revealer on the system and press the Scan button.
    4. RootkitRevealer scans the system reporting its actions in a status area at the bottom of its window and noting discrepancies in the output list. It may take a long time please disconnect from the internet and leave the PC to be scanned until it is finished.
    5. The log can be very large please edit out the items in the following folders in the log : C:\System Volume Information, if in the log, before attaching it.
    6. Please attach the the log here in this thread to your next post.
    Procedure 2:

Click Start, Run, and enter sfc /scannow and click OK. This may ask for your Windows XP CD if it is needed. Make sure your CD matches the Service Pack level you have installed.

Ok I ran the 2 scans. Rootkit came up with no dicrepancies so I dint bother to log an empty file. The 2nd one nothing seemed happen. It ran while I was out. Came home and the windows had closed? Not sure what happened.

Problem is still here though....I'm completely stumped!

    Now what?

Well I would suggest you try posting in the Software Forum. It does not appear that your problems are malware related. A possible thing to do would be a reinstall of Internet Explorer but you did say that your problems occur with FireFox too. So it may not be a browser related problem.

Question: Can you browse in safe mode without any problems?

No I cant even get on the internet even if I boot in safe mode with networking.
I will try the software forum. Thanks for your help & patience anyways!

    Cheers!

You're welcome. You may have some corrupted system files they can help you with over there. You may be asked to try running sfc /scannow from a command prompt. This will try to repair/replace any missing or corrupted system files. It may ask for your Win XP CD when you run it.
