    Hi there.
I downloaded a episode of a TV show, and apparently a message came up on Media Player saying a certain license program had to be downloaded to play it.
Downloaded it, and scanned it with my AVG and Malwarebytes program.......all clear, and then opened the file.

Lo and behold now I am bombarded by a fake Windows Security warning saying my computer is infected and I need to register the Security Soldier software program.

Of course I haven't tried to do that, but so far my attempts to find this Security soldier program have failed.
When I check my installed programs there is no such thing, when I did a search for downloaded files over the past 24 hours, nothing shows up.

Earlier I used my Malwarebytes program and did a quick scan, it did pick up a Trojan, which I removed/deleted, but I am still getting those warnings about a infected computer with the Security Soldier software being recommened to fix it.

Apparently this is a very new 'bug' only a few days old..........does anyone have any idea of how to eliminate it from my computer?
    Thanks in advance.

I am running Vista Premium and have just downloaded Avast and Spyware Doctor and will try scanning with them to see if anything shows.
    Will check back here later.

    Cheers.

Well Spyware Doctor was a waste of time........you have to pay for it to clean up your PC.

    This is most frustrating.

    Does anyone have any idea's?
I've booted up in safe mode, scanned using AVAST, and nothing was picked up.
Did a Malwarebytes scan which showed trojans, I deleted them, rebooted computer, but the rotten thing is still there.

Its okay, I have managed to remove it myself. Between AVAST and Malwarebytes it is now out of my system. What a relief.
