Not sure how or what I have virus/malware but about a month ago my computer started sending emails out to my contacts with out me knowing it.
I stopped it from sending anymore by unplugging from my router.I then found your site and ran the steps for malware removal. Malwarebytes found a Trojan scar which it deleted. I keep running the scans for the next week nothing was found so I plugged back into the router all was good for several days then the emails started up again. I did not go on line other then to let the programs update. This was about a week ago. I have been running scans everyday and can find nothing but I know it is still there. Two days ago I plugged back in to the router and they started up again.
Not sure what else to try, hopefully you can help....

We still need the C:\MGLogs.zip from running C:\MGTools.exe.

Your logs are clean. We can remove one piece of junk:

Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now copy just the bold text below to notepad (Do not include any space above the word REGEDIT). Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

As far as your email is concerned, you will need to find the infected one and remove it. I suggest that you create a new folder and move only those emails that you know are safe. Then delete everything left in your inbox. You might want to try adding a dummy contact such as aaa@aaa.com

I will give this a try and will let you know.
Something to think about with the emails I have two computers both run XP pro they both have the same email list and contacts but only one is sending out the emails which is the one I sent you the files and I have unplugged from my router. If I have saved a bad email wouldnt both computers be sending out the emails to my contacts?
Maybe I should say I think only one is sending out the emails. When I unplug the router from the one they stop. That is why I thought it was a virus or malware of some kind.

Both would be doing it if both had the same spamming email in them. Just save those emails you are sure are safe and delete the rest. Make sure that when it asks if you want to compact the deleted one, you say yes.

You can try doing an online scan, but it may not find it:
    eSet Online Scan.

I did the Regedit4 repair and received a "successfully entered into registry message". So I guess it worked?
I will try the scan if that does not work I will go in and delete the emails that I am unsure of. After I try that I will give you an update.
Thanks for the help so far!

The reg fix was just to remove some leftover junk and not to fix your email issues. You will still need to try to find or remove the offending email. The Eset scan may or may not find it.

I knew the reg fix was to remove leftover junk. I did run the ESET scan took over 6 hours and came back nothing found so there is no file to send you.
After that ran I went in and deleted all my emails. I will leave the computer plugged into the router and see what happens. Hopefully that fixed it.
Thank you once again for your help!!!

    Are you still having issues?

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.We recommend them for doing backup scans when you suspect a malware infection.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
