Ok I am having a very strange problem. This morning i turned on my computer and explorer.exe did no start up so i had no desktop. Restarted and it worked, it started up but if i tried to open a program I would get something like i do not have permissions. So i tried to restart computer again and it said i Do no have permissions. I googled this problem and could not find a solution. I am running kaspersky internet security 2010 fully updated.

Yesterday it did ask me if i wanted to block explorer.exe? So i limited it and when this problem occurred i unblocked it to see if it did anything and it did not. I also tried as system restore and it did no work. Now every restart something different happens either explorer.exe does not start up or no programs work...and sometimes it is just fine.

I am very confused im doing a full scan with malwarebytes and i have also did a full scan with spybot search and destroy. I have had many bad viruses prior but i have fixed them and i have never seen anything like the problem that i am having.

EDIT AGAIN: now since i did not block the explorer.exe no .exe's work if i open one this is the error i get: "This files does not have a programs associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options Control panel.

EDIT: i got if i wanted to block explorer.exe again and i did not do anything. But my kaspersky is now saying its database is corrupt? Please could i get help asap, i know you guys are working voluntarily and I am very grateful that your are.

    Please read this:

Don't Bump! It Only Hurts You!!!

I am going to link you to our complete malware removal procedures, which you should follow work through as much as you can and then attach the requested logs.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything.

Pleases follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • **** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

If you have problems running executables still, then let me know! :)

Thanks for the reply and sorry about the double post did not know it was that serious here =p It seems to be fixed here are the reports. I know...I ran comboFix and i am not supposed to but i did. I also scanned with superAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, my Kaspersky Antivirus and RootRepeal. The reports are attached.

EDIT lol: Ok while i was posting this Malwarebytes detected a Trojan dropper was running maybe that is what kept infecting my pc. Notice i have not downloaded anything in a week or two nor visited any unknown driveby sites. Maybe i had it on my pc and it was activated on fathers day? I have no clue...

This is something that will either have to be discussed in the software forum or at the Kaspersky forums.

    1. Who instructed you to run this script??

    2. Important Notice: A new version of SUPERAntiSpyware is available.
    • Please uninstall your current version (this is necessary).
    • Then download this SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Install this new version. It may tell you that you need to reboot to complete the installation. You must reboot at this time.
    • After the reboot, run SUPERAntiSpyware and immediately click the Check for Updates button to get more updates for the database.
    • Now run a new full scan of your system. And attach this log later.

It may have been a false positive but the file names are malware-like, randomised, plus, you shouldn't be using cracks. Speaking of which:

I hope the version of Kaspersky you have is not a crack. Is it genuine? You ought to be taking a look at this if it isn't:

Warning about Porn, Keygens, Cracks, and other Illegal Software

    3. Please delete the below from your desktop now as it is not where we specified it to be run from anyway.

    • C:\Documents and Settings\Kyle\Desktop\MGtools.exe

    4. What is this seen on your desktop?
    5. Please go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall the following software:

    • Messenger Plus! Live <--- famous for inviting infection, you should remove this immediately, as well as the below outdated java:
    • J2SE Development Kit 5.0 Update 17
    • J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 17
    • Java Auto Updater
    • Java DB 10.5.3.0
    • Java(TM) SE Development Kit 6 Update 15
    • Java(TM) SE Development Kit 6 Update 18

    6. Navigate to the below bold file, (file name is a comma) see if you can see it to delete it using windows explorer.

    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\'

    7. Now we need to use ComboFix
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    • If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box. Ensure you scroll down to select ALL the lines:
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    DirLook::
    c:\documents and settings\TEMP.3GATI.003
    C:\Documents and Settings\Kyle\Local Settings\Application Data\1iOmtySqT

    File::
    c:\documents and settings\TEMP.3GATI.002\prf5.tmp
    c:\documents and settings\TEMP.3GATI.000\prfF.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\en-US\SET158.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\en-US\SET15A.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\en-US\SET1A6.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\en-US\SET1A8.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\en-US\SET2809.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\en-US\SET280B.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\en-US\SET332E.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\en-US\SET3330.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\en-US\SET95.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\en-US\SET97.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\en-US\SETC24.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\en-US\SETC26.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\SIGNUP\SET15F.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\SIGNUP\SET1AD.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\SIGNUP\SET2810.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\SIGNUP\SET3335.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\SIGNUP\SET9C.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\SIGNUP\SETA6.tmp
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\SIGNUP\SETC2B.tmp

    Folder::
    C:\Documents and Settings\Kyle\Local Settings\Application Data\AskToolbar

    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe

      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif

    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below

    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    8. Also delete all files in the below bold folders except ones from the current date (Windows will not let you delete the files from the current day).

    9. Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this, also attach the log from SAS and address any questions that I asked you.

    10. Let me know how things are running now.

OK thanks! the AV.xml is a script for a program and what is this?:

    File::
    C:\windows\iun6002ev.exe
    c:\windows\system32\G_kE-5-9thKY1.exe

Did you want me to use that script to remove those using combo fix? Also the Keys on my desktop have no executables in it and they are not "cracks" or "keygens". I will look into buying another year of Kaspersky.

Thank you for all your help i will do everything you listed.

Also everything is fine with my Anti virus now.

No. One file is legit, I do not even know if the other file is present on your machine now. I wondered why you had that script showing up in your logs. Just follow the instructions that I gave you. :)

    Okay.

    No problem :)
    Great!
