o.k. sorry for the lack of info. I tried the driver you stated and when i update it says the hardware was not installed windows could not finish because it could not find software. I followed the instructions on installing through the run menu. I have a toshiba sattelite p105-s6147 that came with vista. I have everything else done except the audio driver. Any idea's?:)

You have just been "Toshiba-ed" I have the same problem but with their graphics adapter.

More than likely they probably did not write any drivers for the new hardware to be compatible with XP. This isn't only a Toshiba issue, it's becoming more common. Who knows, maybe they'll feel sorry for their customers and write some drivers, but I don't think so.

Zell127: you really should have started your own thread. I'm surprised a system admin hasn't moved your posts to a thread of your own. "Hijacking" a different user's thread generally just confuses the issue for both you and the original thread starter. Any advice offered will be hard to determine if it's for the original post (started by MIKEYDAWORM) or for the "tag on" (started by Zell127).

MIKEYDAWORM: I had a very similar problem with XP and the Conexant AC-Link audio driver. I tried everything. But I did get it to work. Read this thread and use the steps in the article I link to about 'tricking' the driver. Then use the driver I have attached below.

    GOOD LUCK!!!
