    Hi All!

I first got this confusing message on my main laptop for the email site, then to my calendar, then other sites as well.

I have messed with things for two weeks to no avail and don't know if it is malware or actual proxy settings, etc.

I use Win 8.1 on this computer, XP on another, and the message seems to now be spreading to my phone such as iheart, but I still get email there thank goodness!

I have used some security softwares, one from here (adaware?), PCMatic, and don't take all the Windows updates but use the firewall.

I don't go to any odd sites, click on any emails to reply, or other risky maneuvers.

Anyone have a similar experience or have any idea what's going on?

    Nick,

Thanks for the link and I have tried that. I have run several different programs and none has helped. It looks like you think the answer is probably malware.

You could be right but I have not identified any malware or viruses yet. If I simply google it most people seem to think the problem is in the isp-dns area and it looks to go back 10 years.

If they are right I either have had the router reset something or a program's cookies have messed with settings that are related to my original isp-dns settings.

I haven't found the problem yet!

You haven't tried it if you haven't followed the guide Nick T referred you to, then posted the logs from it in a new thread in the 'Specialist' Malware Forum where a trained expert will advise you further.
Just running scans of your own choosing is not the way to do it. Unless you allow a trained expert to review the scan logs required, you can't know whether your system is malware free.
