toolbar nightmares

got 2 toolbars that have installed, and i can't get rid of them, downloaded free version of toolbar buddy but needed to pay before it would remove what it had found. Also getting porn popups that I wasn't getting before. What can u suggest to sort out problem?

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:

[*]runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
[*]newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat

CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender

Bitdefender - from step 6

Panda Scan - from step 6

HijackThis

NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

Thank you for your advice, I am currently working through the steps provided in the thread titled: 'Read and run me first before asking for advice'

Currently I am at step 6, I was unable to connect to the internet in safe mode, so am now running in normal mode, I clicked the link for 'bitdefender', but it came up with page not found, I am wary of moving onto the next step because it specifically says run bitdefender before the next step. Do you have another liink to get bitdefender.

I am also attaching the logs from the shownew and getrunkey bat files, I wasn't sure which post to attach them too as so many threads get opened while running through the steps.

Try running Bitdefender again! If you still have a problem with it, skip it and run PandaActiveScan. If you also cannot run PandaActiveScan, run this: Running Ewido Anti-Malware and attach the Ewido log.

Then finish step 7 of the READ ME and attach your HJT log.

Now goto Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the below (only uninstall these and no others):
Internet Explorer Security Plugin 2006
Internet Security Add-On
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 2
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 5
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6

Do you know what the below install program is for?
ReportAssist2005

Also please make sure you run Ccleaner and then attach a new log from ShowNew

What toolbars are you having problems with? I see the below installed:Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer

Yahoo! Toolbar
