A few days ago I somehow contracted a virus that seemed to ramp up the CPU usage from 0 to 10% up to 40% whenever i wasn't using it and i felt like there was an small delay when I typed on the browser. I noticed the CPU ussage happening because the fans would start to spin fast. I prompted the task manager and saw the numbers. A minute after i opened the task manager the CPU usage kept getting 10% spikes periodically even when there was nothing in use. No, I didn't download any game nor used daemon tools

After I ran antivirus, anti adware, anti rootkits, etc with no results i decided to reformat, everything was fine until now (1 day something since formatting) when the problem came back again.

A few hours before writing this post I somehow had 3 explorers running

1 was c:/Windows/explorer.exe but the command line was c:/Windows/Explorer.EXE

    The other 2 were c:/Windows/explorer.exe but their command lines were c:/Windows/Explorer.EXE {numbers and letters}

I don't remember the numbers and letters but i did look them up and got results although in any of them anyone said if it was a virus or not, it probably is. I did open file location them but they all took me to where the real explorer.exe is supposed to be.

A few minutes before I made this post i had 3 dllhost.exe running , the users of the first 2 were system but the third had my username

dwm.exe whose path is c:/Windows/system32/dwm.exe has the command line capitalized c:/Windows/system32/Dwm.exe

I don't really understand whats going on because the only things installed are ESET smarst security, Spybot, the computer drivers, firefox, java and flash.

I had preeminently disabled all remote use related services Remote desktop, workstation, etc (not remote procedure call and such) but it didn't help it seems

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

This does not really sound like malware especially since you stated that you still have the problem after a format and reinstall. It is very rare for this to happen. Not impossible... just very rare.

However if you want to check to see if there is any malware at play, please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything.

Please follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • **** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual update Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only RogueKiller and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run the rest of the READ & RUN ME FIRST instructions on the infected account.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

You're welcome. Your logs confirm what I stated already and that is that you are not having malware problems. They are all clean.

You need to look elsewhere. Either for hardware issues or potentially some legit application that is causing you a problem. I see signs of MegaSync in your RogueKiller log. Maybe it is causing you an issue.
