I've tried malaware. I've tried malware in safemode. I've tried some "Rkill" thing and then malaware.

    Still have the problem.

My memory is bad but let me try to narrate my problems thus far. (I have Vista)

When I first got the virus (FROM PORN OMG WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME) for whatever reason it deleted my desktop wallpaper and all my shortcuts both on that bottom-of-the-screen-gray-bar and the shortcuts that are listed as soon as you press Start.

I saw the fake Vista Total Security 2011 alerts and immediately shut off my computer and restarted and did task manager and ended all the suspicious looking processes. This works as far as it lets me use my computer without getting bombarded with the messages. I tried malaware in safemode, it found viruses and removed them. Yet I still have it. I tried free avg, it also found viruses and removed some but there were also others it couldn't heal (sorry I forgot to write them down I'm a dumb person)

Soon I started getting "Windows Host Service has stopped working" messages. I also started getting extreme lag. I noticed my CPU would start running at 100% shortly after booting up. I located the problem, svchost.exe processes. I always end the biggest one but I try not to mess with the others. This fixes my lag but I have to do it routinely.

I also get google redirects (as well as random ads that open in tabs). I now directly copy the urls. I have NoScript running on firefox right now just to be safe.

The virus used to prevent windows security from operating but after a tug of war with the processes I was able to get that back up although the update still gets an error.

I wish I could just reformat but my cd drive is broken.

What information do you guys need. What tools should I download. What steps should I take. I tried looking around the forums but the threads seem all disconnected and are presented as though they're a series of parts (if blah blah didn't work, try this now). Very confusing.

I want you to run TDSSKiller so refer to the below for how to do so.

    TDSSkiller - How to run

Please click Start, All Program, Accessories and you will see ( among other things ) a Command Prompt entry.
    • Right click the Command Prompt entry and select Run As Administrator.
      • It is critical that you run it this way.
    • If you do this properly, a command prompt window will open with a title of Administrator Command Prompt.
    • Enter the below commands ( in bold black ) at the command prompt each followed by the enter key. Try each command!!!! The bold black are commands. The purple/brown is merely informational.
cd \ <-- this changes to the root folder and the prompt should change to C:\>
attrib -h -s * /S /D <-- this will try to remove the hidden and system attributes on all files and folder. Note there are spaces before -h, before -s, before * and before each /
attrib -h -s *.* /S /D <-- a redundant command match possibly other file names and folders due to using *.*

Let me know if this helps.

Please download and save the below to your Desktop or anywhere else you can find it ( if the Desktop is not showing )

Now run it. Did that help?

Work your way through the below please.

Please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything.

Please follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • **** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.
