What certifications do I need to become a Malware Analyst?

I've previously posted here on how to get started as a malware analyst, and wanted to say thanks on getting me started. How much do certifications help me in for my resume and which one(s) should I get? Will experience ultimately be better than a cert? And finally, when should I get certified? I'm currently a sophomore studying information assurance, should I wait until I graduate to get certified?

Sorry for the abundance of questions, and thanks for helping.

Are you talking about being a malware fighter on this site or are you talking in general?

    In general.

Unfortunately we are too busy to offer training to anyone who is not already a recognized expert. There are a few websites that provide training rooms. The process can take awhile to complete since there is a lot to learn and the people training you are doing it in their free time. Make sure that you are serious about wanting to spend the time to learn and have the time to perform malware removal this because it takes a strong committment. Check out the below sites:

I am not interested in that, I wanted to know if there were any certs needed for malware analysis. I want to work for an AV company and develop signatures via analysis, that's what my question is about.

    I suggest you contact AV-Comparatives.

Also have a look at the official CompTIA Security+ certification program.

    Hi

Any forum certs "could" help you in industry but to be honest they will not be as useful as MCP or MSCA certs, not to say that in certain malware industries that a FOR610 or any SANS cert as well as GREM cert is useless as they are not, just have to be direct in your area of expertise and life working!

CompTIA Security+ is very useful as are networking certs.
