    Please help!

my computer seems to have contracted the win32.alcra.f virus and i cannot get rid of it - i have used Norton AntiVirus which says it has sorted the problem but whenever i restart the computer, it says there is still a problem and scans again!....whenever i use the internet, pop-ups invade and crashes the browser so the problem has clearly not been resolved.

I was also told by Norton Antivirus that i have a trojan.vundo virus and infostealer!....i ran a removal tool for Trojan.vundo which i downloaded from the symantec website but it told me that i do not have this virus on my computer once the scan was complete? I am also very worried about the infostealer....is it possible for this virus to obtain my internet banking details.

If you could help in any way at all with getting rid of all three virus/trojans, i would be very very very very grateful....i am not very clued up with computers so you will really have to explain in lots of detail im afraid!....if i started again with reinstallling windows, will this solve all my problems? (last resort though obviously!)

    thanks in advance!

Trojans and Viruses are ruining my life!

    please please help!

i have serious issues with my Pc which runs Windows XP..

i have run Norton antivirus which says i have "infostealer, win32.acra.f and trojan.vundo" virus's/trojans!...although the antivirus said the problems have been repaired, i get inundated with pop-ups when browsing the internet and the antivirus still says i have a problem and simply restarts the scan.

I turned off my system restore and ran a trojan.vundo removal tool i got from symantec website, only for it to tell me that this virus is not present on my computer? i

Please please could you help?....i need my computer for work so i need to fix it asap!...as a last resort, would re-installing windows get rid of the problems?

any help would be gratefully appreciated!....i am not very computer savvy

    thanks in advance!

    Hi and welcome

Sadly bumping your thread within 20mins will not help, it will however pop you to the back of the work queue, Don't Bump! It Only Hurts You!!!

But to assist in helping you remove the malware and trojans on your PC we will need you to follow the below guide, it may look daunting but many many users have followed it easily, once you have run the guide you will have a set of logs, which we will need you to attach as stated, from their our malware experts can assist you in removing whast found, as if you haev one trojan its like more are resident.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
      • CounterSpy
      • AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy
      • Bitdefender - from step 6
      • Panda Scan - from step 6
      • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
      • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • HijackThis
NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!
