There is are several posts on this W10 1803 update.
You can stop the update for now, if you wish-

If you are not happy with installing, in case you setup is not compatible, then, it could be worth trying it in a virtual Machine , first- I held back , as I had a triple boot system, and did not want the boot code messed up- sometimes this update seems to damage that.
So I tried it in Oracle Virtualbox, and it went smoothly.
Her is a post I did earlier ,that explains , and gives pictures of each step with W10 1709

It asks for a key, but as you are only testing it, you do not need one- just click 'I do not have a key'.
Just click continue, and it will start to install-
One note I would like to tell you about, is that it will insist on you putting in code , or, number, andd , although I tried 4 times, it will not let you cancel that bit- so have a number and letters that you can remember on hand- in case you need to use it (I wonder if this might be what you need when yo udo proper update installation, as that seems to be one of this update problems)
Obviously, you cannot personalize it without an activation number (COA), but it will , after you tick all the questions, install.
Looks O.K,but I will only try it, myself, on a fresh install, and hard drive, at present.

If it does not install in a Virtual Machine, then,I would advise that it may well be incompatible with your system.

Update- I notice that my other Virtual Machines in Oracle virtualbox were no longer there.....I could get some back, by finding th image I saved, and re-installing those- just thought it might be worth noting-Greedy system , it seems - when looking at it running it said Hyper-V, but it is installed in Oracles Virtualbox.......That may be why it happened...
