So, this is probably the wrong section and I apologies.. But here it goes anyway. Yesterday I had just started my computer up and everything loaded just fine.. About one minute after it was loaded up my screen went blue and was filled with text followed by the computer shutting itself off. It went by so fast I was only able to catch that it was some kind of windows error, it was shutting down to prevent further damage and I think something about a missing file or program. I've never ran into this kind of problem before and my computer skills are above most people I'd like to think.. I've tried everything I can think of and can't seem to find the reason for this. Now when I start my computer up it takes a good four minutes to get to the log in screen and once I log in I get the blue screen of death followed by a extremely slow load up for my start up programs. Recently I downloaded Ashampoo Winoptimizer6, CCleaner, Super AntiSpyware and Malware Bytes from this forum and those along with LOTRO (Lord of the rings online) are the only new programs I've downloaded in the past month. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the wall of text. :'x

Well to rule out malware you will need to follow through the below so that I can review your logs and see what's happening. As you say, could be that I have to refer you to another area of the forum though.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything.

Pleases follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • **** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

I already went through that and I didn't have any malware, spyware or viruses on my computer. Like I said this is probably the wrong section to post this but I didn't know where else to put it.

    Edit-
I wasn't trying to sound rude in that post. It's just I've searched the web non stop for a solution to this since it happened I have come up empty handed. I ran the scans but didn't save my scan results. If absolutely needed I can run them again and attach the logs in another post

Well, if you are keen to press on perhaps it would be better for you to go ahead and post in the software forum. Best of luck with your issues, hope you get it resolved soon! :)
